Since the signing in October 2023 of the granting by the American cooperation agency USAID of a new grant as part of the Harvest III program to Confirel, five steps have been reached for an amount of some 20,000 USD.
Lasting 1 year, USAID's financial support for Confirel should enable the company to develop new products and new production lines, strengthen the food safety standards of its production site, and contribute to the training of farmers in pre and post production in the pepper, palm sugar, mango and cocoa sectors, and finally to sign new supply contracts with farmers and producer associations.
This is the second time that Confirel has been selected by Harvest III, proof if any were needed that the company is a leading player in Cambodia's rural development and its food independence.
Launched in 2022 for a period of 5 years, Harvest III, also known as Feed The Future Cambodia Harvest III, is a 25 million program aimed at promoting sustainable and widespread economic growth by increasing the diversification and competitiveness of the Cambodian agricultural sector. It is funded by the US government’s Feed the Future initiative and managed by USAID.
